Redfish

Tailing redfish are back on the morning low

Early low tides have pushed schools onto the grass edges. Bring an eight-weight and a lot of patience — these fish are looking up.

Capt. Annie Kohl2026-08-0486°FGlass calm, morning low at 6:40am

The best window has been the first ninety minutes after sunrise, when the sun is low enough that the fish are comfortable in six inches of water.

A tan crab pattern on a twelve-foot leader has been the whole game. Lead them by four feet and let it sit.

We have put six first-time fly anglers on their first redfish in the last two weeks.

Fish this pattern while it lasts
